Changing MAC address possible?

Post by Gmrss »

Hi. Is it possible to change MAC address (which connects to mobile network) on M1, M5, M6 Pro routers? Or MAC is not used when connecting to mobile network, imei and imsi only? I see there are 2 MACs in device info. As I understand one for connection to mobile operator and one for ethernet/wifi. Right or not?

I Change either of them in the nv by DM command via the diagnostic comport, there may be a cli for it I cannot remember if there is or not you can check for it.

That is an AT command not a DM command, DM commands are Alphanumeric similar to binary just not limited to zero's and one's.
DM's are an old system made back in the beginning of wireless mostly for cdma or at least here in the states where cdma was prevalent in the beginning of wireless, however, it is still used by qualcomm to deal with most changeable values in the nv, pri, efs and other system properties.
I don't think there is an AT command to change the mac addresses.

here it is in NVBF in the efs, however editing ASCII here wont respect your changes as this file is backed up not only in the rfs it is in the userrw, ntgrpersist and cust parts as well as /safe and sfs and swir in the efs, to properly edit it it should be done by the root/admin user via DM command, I am sure there is another way to edit it besides to edit it in all addresses
