MR6110 Help for a Newbie!

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum and just trying to figure out how to get started. I have a MR6110 (was trying for a 6500) I bought off ebay that is supposed to be unlocked. I had bought it to use with the SIM from my TM home internet box based off a YouTube video I saw, which suggested using dc unlocker to change the imei to match the home internet box. To make a long story short, I have the latest firmware that isn't compatible with dc unlocker.

After doing some digging, I figured I would look into downgrading the firmware to one that would work with dc unlocker and I came across this site. Based on what I have gathered from reading so far, I am thinking I might have a version of the M6 pro that isn't the best for this application.

Can someone give me some advice or point me in the right direction? I am a newbie to this world, but I am tech savvy enough to learn. My use case is that I want a hotspot that I can use as a backup when my home internet goes down and also have unlimited data to use on roadtrips and stuff. ATT and Tmobile networks are the best in my area, so anything that uses those towers is fine with me if I need to go down a different route than using the TM home internet SIM.

Any advice is appreciate, I just need to know where to start and what some recommendations would be for my use case if my current direction isn't ideal.

Fyi, the current firmware on my MR6110 is NTGX65_12.01.48.00. When I contacted dc unlocker support, they said I might try and figure out how to install NTGX65_12.01.11.00, but that's as far as we got. I'm definitely not stuck on using dc unlocker either, that was just the first resource I found out about.
