There is little doubt that Starlink has changed the arena for internet service. They have also partnered with T-Mobile. Since a lot of members/people are now taking advantage of using satellite service, we felt a forum should be included to accommodate these additions.

It may be worth removing the modems and placing each in a USB sled and use a PC to check each to make sure they are working. At that time you may want to update the modem firmware to the latest and configure the modem composition that MoFi uses (i.e., QMI, MBIM).

If the router was working fine and would recognize both modems "prior" to the upgrade, then the new firmware seems to be the contributing factor. And, while I am not very familiar with their firmware and/or update process:

IMEI is only half the equation. You will also need to change the TTL value.

From my experience and unless something has changed, Verizon requires to a TTL of 65 or 117.

Re: Extending the Range of the Arlo Base Station

bjames Great work and certainly food for thought.

I will provide my thoughts on this project as well as links to the build components for convenience.

I have always considered mounting the base station in an external outdoor enclosure to better reach a few of my cameras. I was planning to leave ...

I'm not sure what is wrong with this forum. I keeps deleting my Darn Post.

I feel your pain. This has bit me in the ass many times. Basically if you take too long typing a response then you get signed out and when you submit you lose what you have typed. I got in the habit of copying all ...

Re: Messing up with TTL using different variations... still getting throttled and frustrated

Can you connect the phone to the router and SSH into the router using putty and run the following command:

ifconfig -a

Need to see what interface is being assigned to the USB phone. Look for the interface that shows IPV4 and IPV6 addresses.

I do not have a gi.net to test but, and looking at ...

hydrocynus

I updated the rules above to cover the IPV6 tables (which I just noticed did not get copied on my original post).

Another way to write the rules which makes it easier to modify the Interface being used and the TTL assigned to that interface:

Re: Messing up with TTL using different variations... still getting throttled and frustrated

The rules below assumes the USB interface is assigned usb0 (which is common for tethering).

The rules also cover use of an internal modem where the WAN1 interface is assigned wwan0.

Adjust the ttl-set # to your desired TTL

#startTTL
iptables -t mangle -I POSTROUTING -o wwan0 -j TTL --ttl-set 65 ...

The initial issue is that you are trying to upload a .zip file.

You will need to extract it and upload the .bin file that is compressed within the .zip file.
